That love for story and creative expression was the spark for a career that has now spanned three decades and included well over 20 years of experience in the arts. Ben has worked in radio, film, journalism, fine art, music, graphic design, visual communications and interactive media, as a creator, director, producer and teacher. He’s been a radio producer and on-air personality, a reporter for a small-town newspaper, and a sound recordist and sound designer for feature films, commercials and corporate video. More recently, he’s directed and produced several short audio documentaries, including the String Theory and Designing the Story podcast series. “McNett Country,” a flash film he created in 2002 chronicling the story of the McNett brothers, two country musicians who got “stuck” in Ben’s home town of Williamsport, PA, was a finalist in the story category at the Flash Film Festival YK2 NYC.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in film and television production from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. In addition to his work with act3, Ben teaches design in the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, and is recording a new album with his band, The Vaad.
