Teaching and writing have been the twin themes of Eric’s career.  Through them, he’s learned the power of a clear message and a compelling story, and sharpened his ability to deliver both.

His teaching has included coaching track and field at Washington University; training leaders as a facilitator, presenter and organizational consultant; advising students on everything from how to plan a banquet to how to write a resume; and in a more formal setting, teaching technical writing in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University.

Writing has been both a creative outlet and a vocation:  professionally, Eric has served as an online editor for an Internet start-up, written corporate communications including newsletters and video scripts, and edited textbooks; creatively, he has written short stories, novels, and magazine articles, and also writes The State of the Union, a weekly online column.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts in English at Washington University, where, during his sophomore year, Ben taught him to play guitar.
