Preston has made a career out of telling challenging stories to skeptical audiences.

He earned his BS in Political Science from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, where he was a recipient of the William Randolph Hearst Scholarship in Political Science and a graduate of the United States Senate Youth Program. Following graduation, Preston led the professional staff of Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity, where he had to calm aggravated campus officials, explain unpopular policies to unruly undergraduates, coordinate the activities of several thousand alumni volunteers, and manage a 2.5 million dollar budget, while also accumulating more than 500 campus visits across the United States and Canada. He has also worked as a volunteer or paid staffer on more than 40 local, state, and national political campaigns. These early professional and volunteer experiences cultivated Preston's patience, and his ability to clearly and concisely convey the heart of a story.

A graduate of the University of Georgia School of Alcohol and Drug Studies, Preston has been an active advocate of drug & alcohol abuse prevention and treatment for more than twenty years and is a past member of the Advisory Board of the State of Georgia Network for Substance Abuse Prevention in Higher Education. He is also active in the hospice-care movement, a certified hospice care volunteer trainer, and has served in several volunteer leadership roles with the Georgia Hospice & Palliative Care Organization.

Preston developed his communication skills as an entrepreneur in the mid-1990s, launching a successful consulting practice focused on online publishing, marketing, advertising, and communications. As one of the innovators behind the Internet ezine, he produced and distributed more than 20 proprietary and corporate online publications, including The Internet Business Chronicle, amassing more than a quarter of a million opt-in subscribers.

Since joining the act3 team in 2005, Preston has become act3's organizational maestro, ensuring our processes and systems run smoothly, and applying his relationship and organizational skills to our day-to-day operations, financial management, client relationships, and project management.
